Boost Heating Efficiency This Winter

Monday, September 16th, 2019

Look, we get it. Things are still pretty steamy out there during the days. The last thing on your mind at noon right now is your heating system. What about at night, though? Or in the early morning.  When the sun is down, we’re sure that you’ve noticed things are cooling down out there. And that means it is really only a matter of time—a short amount of time, at that—before you start running your heating system once more.

When that time comes, are you sure that your heater will step up to the plate and knock it out of the part? Are you worried that it might strike out when it comes to energy efficiency? Just because we don’t use our heaters to the same extent that they do in, say, Vermont or Minnesota, is no reason to settle for subpar heating efficiency.  When it comes to heater efficiency, you can take control by following the advice of our HVAC professionals in St. Charles, MO.

What You Can Do to Boost HVAC Efficiency

Monday, August 19th, 2019

AC-with-moneyWe may still be in the midst of the cooling season right now, but in today’s post, we’re focusing on some tips that will not only benefit you when cooling your home with your AC, but also when warming your home up with your heater in the winter. More specifically, we’re talking about a cause that we can all get behind—heating and cooling homes with more efficiency! And don’t worry, we’re not just going to be telling you to replace your systems with more efficient models.

While replacing your HVAC equipment in O’Fallon, MO, with more efficient systems is a great way to cut down on home comfort costs, we understand that not everyone has the funds to do that at the drop of a hat. Moreover, most systems can operate more efficiently when you take a few simple steps or make a few minor upgrades. Be wary of any HVAC professional that tells you the only path toward improved efficiency is a full replacement.

There’s Ice on My Heat Pump. Do I Need Repairs?

Monday, February 18th, 2019

iceBecause our winters are relatively mild in this part of the country, the heat pump is a great option to consider for year round comfort. These systems work just like central air conditioners in the summer, evaporating refrigerant indoors to remove heat from the air in the house and then condensing that refrigerant outdoors in order to release it into the air outside. In the winter, however, that process is reversed and heat from the air outside is absorbed, the refrigerant is then compressed, and it is condensed indoors to heat the house very efficiently.

Like any other residential HVAC system, of course, heat pumps are subject to occasional operational problems. And, like most other HVAC system problems, issues with your heat pump may not always be what they seem. If you see ice on your heat pump, then you certainly may need to contact a professional HVAC contractor in Wildwood. Sometimes, though, that ice is actually to be expected. Let’s take a closer look at the issue, and remember that we can answer any questions that you may have.

Don’t Let a Dirty Furnace Filter Cause Trouble

Monday, October 29th, 2018

filter

Modern heating systems, when professionally installed and serviced, are incredibly reliable. That does not mean that they’re 100% reliable,  though, or that any heater ever can be. If you encounter a salesman or service technician telling you otherwise, we recommend that you reconsider doing business with that individual. Just because no heater is 100% reliable, however, doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t take every precaution in order to keep yours as reliable as possible. That’s where changing the filter comes in.

It may not sound like that big of a deal, but a dirty air filter can actually lead to a lot of different issues with your furnace. In fact, it can even lead to issues requiring furnace repair in St. Charles, MO. The good news is that changing your filter is really simple, and the filters themselves cost very little. For some reason, unfortunately, many homeowners still fail to keep fresh filters in place. By the time you’ve read this post, we think you’ll understand why that’s such a bad idea.
